The need for speed
North East Sardinia It is a well-known fact that the Italians love fast cars. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati,...
Most people who know me wondered if I would go on this Atlantic Passage, especially since I was very open about my complete and utter desire NOT to go. But in the end, I couldn’t send Larry thousands of miles offshore with unknown crew. Even people you know can be a challenge on a small boat in the middle of the ocean. Luckily, it looks like our crew are very pleasant, competent people. And luckily, the weather has been good so far. Passages are typically days of boredom followed by moment of shear terror. With only three days into the boring part, I am hoping we skip the terror on this trip.

Larry snagged the sweet spot on the dock, on the end when you look on G-map. As one who has gone thru the gap, <100m and been on shore at Gates Fort, it must have been something to watch the rally set off.

Very nice Mary, I knew you could do it!! That first glass of champagne will be exquisite. Best of luck. Smooth sailing.
Glad you decided to do it Mary – you would have regretted not doing it – you are a sailor extraordinaire now! Congratulations – now the fun begins. Looking forward to more photos and blogs – yes we live thru you vicariously!
