Versatile and fast, Berkeley East has been very capable in Larry and Mary’s onshore and offshore sailing adventures. From Florida to Maine, south to the Caribbean twice, an Atlantic crossing, through the Mediterranean to Turkey, and back.  Regularly making over 200 miles per day, Berkeley East’s best performance was 260NM in 24 hours while sailing across the Atlantic ocean in a gale (with reefed main and genoa).

Berkeley East has a cutter rig with in-mast furling mainsail, furling headsails, and electric primary winches, a good configuration for two-person cruising.

The cabin is customized for extended stays with a watermaker, generator, and washer/dryer.  Solar panels mounted on the bimini provide 40 percent of Berkeley East’s power.  She has room to sleep six with large forward and aft staterooms, a portside cabin and two heads. The large saloon windows provide light and visibility.
