The Road to Venice
Chioggia, Italy We decided to travel up the East coast of Italy because we wanted to take Berkeley East to Venice....
Berkeley East is doing well, resting nicely at the marina in Hampton, VA, while we enjoy some land time at our house just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. We keep an eye on the hurricanes and travel up to the marina regularly to ensure that the boat is doing well, but the majority of our time is spent at home on the lake.
We have had great times with family and friends who have joined us at the Ivins Wakeboard and Water Ski School on Lake Norman. It is a pleasure to see everyone and more impressive to watch them as they tackle new water sports.
While we have numerous, and very entertaining, photos and videos of our guests learning to water ski, we have decided not to put them on the blog.
For those of you who think we have it too easy, here are a couple of pictures of what we do in our free time (oh yeah, it’s all free time).
While we have been working on our water skiing and wakeboarding, we have been hard at work planning the next adventure on Berkeley East. Our plans tend to be as fluid as the water we sail on, changing regularly, but the most recent schedule has Berkeley East sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea with ARC Europe in May. We are also working out the details of what we will do between now and then, stay here or go to the Virgin Islands in November. Hopefully, all of that will come to us during our visit to California over the next two weeks. Then comes the hard part of stocking the boat, finding crew and fine tuning the crossings.
