Ft Lauderdale, Florida As we left Nassua Harbor, the weather was good so we changed our plans (again). Instead of a...
Some things don’t change. Before departing for our long sail to New York, we had a wonderful dinner at Still Pond, Delaware. The menu was indicative our past experiences:
1997 Rosemount Mt. Blue Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon (from our time in OZ)
Tri-tip steak (from living in California’s central coast)
Tomato, Feta and Basil salad (from good friends in North Carolina)
This was a good opportunity to stock up, as the next 36 hours were spent sailing from the Chesapeake Bay, through the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal and then offshore up the New Jersey coast. We arrived in Sandy Hook, NJ (at the Southern entrance to the NY/NJ bay) in great shape, but a little wet. We spent a couple of days anchored in Horseshoe Cove sorting out things that we had not finished prior to leaving NC.
