01 June 2014 | Northern Sporades Greece
Our niece, Alyssa, took some time between her study abroad classes in Crete and Ireland this summer to visit us in the Northern Sporades of Greece. It was great to have her sail with us again. She has grown up quite a bit from the first time we put her behind the wheel of a charter boat in Sydney Australia.
During her time on board Berkeley East, Alyssa was keen to learn. She was at the helm for a long meandering sail from Volos to Skiathos.
She also showed a very swift hand at the throttle while backing down on the anchor, and mastered tacking BE, with only one “oops.” By the end of the trip, Alyssa’s sailing skills showed great promise. Perhaps some day we will be visiting her on her own boat.
