As Hurricane season approached, Mary, Christian and I left Ft. Lauderdale on our first offshore passage to Charleston, SC. We had an exciting first 24 hours covering 235 nautical miles that Mary described as a “run away freight train“. After that the wind died and we motored, arriving in Charleston 40 hours after our departure.
